They changed the world.
One hundred years of changing social views, transition from the wild west to metropolitan growth and the influx of new communities caused major shifts in Los Angeles prior to the club formation.
The Satyrs helped spawn the growth of hundreds of motorcycle clubs, uniform clubs and many leather organizations over the nearly six decades of existence.
The club members impact over the years on gay history, culture, discrimination, police raids, entrapment and even charity has been widely documented.

Movie Previews, Trailers and Clips

In November 1954, seven former military men who shared the common interest of motorcycles formed one the oldest continuously running gay organizations in the world, the Satyrs Motorcycle Club. In a time when being a homophile in public was risky, dangerous and nearly impossible; they met in open secret, avoiding the ire of the feds with the "red scare and Mc Carthyism, barely escaping the "witchhunt of social vagrants" and skirting the outer circles of outlaw bikers like the Hells Angels and the Devil's Henchmen.
The Long Road Forward film anthology series is the next chapter in preserving the last bits of historical information of one of America's most iconic gay organization. It is the follow-up film series to the 2004 film Original Pride. The Long Road Forward: The Brotherhood, is the first film chapter in the series that goes back to the beginning and beyond.
What did these men endure to overcome the challenges of their days? How did gay men returning from two wars meet to discover each other in a time when being homosexual was practically a crime? How did men who came from the mid-west, dropped off in Los Angeles after the war discover a new world previously unknown to them?
